Troop Guidelines

 

Advancement & Leadership Responsibilities

Purpose:

bullet

To reinforce the basic values and ideals of Scouting through consistent emphasis on the Scout Law and Scout Spirit.

bullet

To offer boys an opportunity to achieve something to be proud of  while developing as men and as leaders in the community.

bullet

To offer boys an opportunity to plan and run a challenging but fun program, coached by adults who are committed to letting the boys make decisions and learn to lead.

bullet

Ensure that standards are high and are consistently and fairly applied.

bullet

Emphasize leadership, achievement and Scout Spirit.

bullet

Ensure that the standards are clear and that every boy knows what is expected.

Medical Forms

bullet

A BSA CLASS III Medical Form is required for all youth and adult  participants in troop activities and outings. 

bullet

This form asks for a health history and provides permission to treat in the event of an emergency. 

bullet

All information will he held in confidence.

bullet

Adult participants, aged 40 and over, are required (per the Guide to Safe Scouting) to have an annual physical exam and secure a doctor's approval to participate in troop activities. 

bullet

This exam is  documented on the BSA CLASS III Medical Form.

Code of Conduct

The Scout Oath & Law are the Troop's Code of Conduct and our primary guidelines for all Scout Behavior.  

bullet

Each Scout in Troop 113 shall practice living by the Scout Oath and Scout Law in every day life, as well as, at all Scouting functions. 

bullet

All Scouts and adults will observe the Guide to Safe Scouting as defined by the Boy Scouts of America.

bullet

Non-compliance with any of the Troop's Code of Conduct will result with appropriate action.

The Scout Uniform

bullet

The traditional Boy Scout uniform with red shoulder loops is worn for most Scout activities.  The Troop tee-shirt may be worn for outdoor activities.

bullet

The official dress uniform is commonly referred to as the 'Class A' uniform.

bullet

The "activity uniform", referred to as 'Class B' which is the Troop t-shirt.

bullet The following parts are worn with the Class A uniform:
bullet Official Boy Scout olive trousers, shorts or the new
switch back pants
bullet Official Boy Scout tan long or short sleeve shirt with
red shoulder loops are worn.
bullet Official Boy Scout belt
bullet Neckerchief and slide - worn at formal occasions.
bullet The neckerchief is issued to Tenderfoot Scouts.
