Advancement & Leadership
Responsibilities
Purpose:
 |
To reinforce the basic values and
ideals of Scouting through
consistent
emphasis on the Scout Law and
Scout Spirit. |
 |
To offer boys an opportunity to
achieve something to be proud of while developing as men and
as leaders in the community. |
 |
To offer boys an opportunity to plan
and run a challenging but fun program,
coached by adults who are
committed to letting the boys make decisions
and learn to lead. |
 |
Ensure that standards are high and
are consistently and fairly applied. |
 |
Emphasize leadership, achievement and
Scout Spirit. |
 |
Ensure that the standards are clear
and that every boy knows what is
expected. |

Medical Forms
 |
A
BSA CLASS III Medical Form is required for
all youth and adult participants in troop activities and outings.
|
 |
This
form asks for a health history and provides permission to treat in the
event of an emergency. |
 |
All information will he held in confidence.
|
 |
Adult participants, aged 40 and over, are required (per the
Guide
to Safe Scouting) to have an annual physical exam and secure a
doctor's approval to
participate in troop activities.
|
 |
This exam
is documented on the BSA
CLASS III Medical Form. |

Code of Conduct
 |
The Scout Oath & Law are the
Troop's
Code of Conduct and our primary
guidelines for all Scout Behavior.
|
 |
Each Scout in
Troop 113 shall practice living by the Scout Oath and Scout
Law in every
day life, as well as, at all Scouting functions.
|
 |
All Scouts and adults
will observe the Guide to Safe Scouting as defined by
the Boy Scouts of America. |
 |
Non-compliance
with any of the
Troop's
Code of Conduct will result with
appropriate action. |

The Scout Uniform
 |
The
traditional Boy Scout uniform with red shoulder
loops is worn for most Scout activities.
The Troop tee-shirt may be worn for outdoor
activities. |
 |
The official
dress uniform is commonly referred to as the
'Class A' uniform. |
 |
The "activity
uniform", referred to as 'Class B' which is the
Troop t-shirt. |
 |
The following parts are
worn with the Class A uniform:
 |
Official Boy
Scout olive trousers, shorts or the new
switch back pants |
 |
Official Boy
Scout tan long or short sleeve shirt with
red shoulder loops are worn.
|
 |
Official Boy
Scout belt |
 |
Neckerchief and
slide - worn at formal occasions. |
 |
The neckerchief is issued to Tenderfoot Scouts. |
